Charles Coleman & Co, whose origins date back to the 1950’s, has always been a firm offering a professional and friendly service for the private individual and business owners. The current partners are Ann Thomas, who joined in 1995, and Johanna Martin who joined in 2004.
Ann and Jo pride themselves on delivering a high quality service to their clients. More than 90% of the firm’s clients come to them through recommendation.
Our History:
The firm was started in 1957 by Charles Coleman. Originally part of a larger firm with several offices, the firm was divided by location in the early 1980s. The Reading office was run by David Cove and later his son Michael. |

Ann Thomas |
 |
Ann has been a qualified solicitor for 30 years. Working at firms in London and Reading before joining Charles Coleman & Co, her career has focused on family law. She has wide experience especially in acting for clients of mid to high net worth.
Ann is an accredited member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors Family Law Association) with specialisms in pensions and cohabitation and she is trained as a collaborative lawyer. Amongst other complex matters, she was involved in the reported case of M v M (financial conduct: third party subpoena) 2006 2FLR 1253.

Johanna Martin |
|
Jo qualified as a solicitor in 1996 whilst working for an established firm in Tilehurst, Reading. After working in London for a few years, she came back to her home town of Reading and joined Ann as a partner at Charles Coleman & Co in 2004.
Jo deals with all types of property work - buying or selling houses and commercial leases. She also acts for small businesses and she prepares wills and powers of attorney and advises on probate matters.
She specialises in residential conveyancing and has achieved the accreditation from the law society for the Conveyancing Quality Scheme – this is a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices.
